Program Duration

DS and Analytics & IT and Cybersecurity & MS in HI Program:
1-year and 1-term (5-terms) Total 36 credits, 6 more credits per term which includes two 3-credit courses (15-weeks) per term and and a 6-credit practicum course, with 1 to 4 practicum credits assigned each term.
IT and PM & MBA:
2-year (6-terms) Total 40 credits, 6 more credits per term which includes two 3-credit courses (15-weeks) per term and a 7-credit practicum course, with 1 to 4 practicum credits assigned each term.
Students need to complete 15-25 learning hours each week. Class assignments are posted on Blackboard, and weekly assignments may include a combination of readings, videos, discussions, forums, term projects, and other tasks.

A one-term earned annual break is available after completing three consecutive full-time terms. Please note that CPT is not available during the break semester.

CPT Policy and Start Date

* Indicates that CPT is mandatory for program enrollment as F-1 students

CPT is an integral part of the executive programs for all F-1 students, and participation is required*
Request a CPT start date up to 30 days before the semester start date
For both initial and transfer students, CPT needs be applied for at the beginning of the program start date

CPT Application Renewal

Every Term

Required CPT Documents

1.) Complete this Employment Agreement Form including required signatures (yours and your supervisors) along with a scan of your Job Offer Letter;
send the forms to EAF@nec.edu for an academic approval signature from our Career and Life Planning Office.
2.) After the approved EAF is returned to you, email it directly to your DSO/International Student Advisor.
Your DSO will process your request and send you an I-20 documenting your term registration and CPT authorization.
3.) Be sure to retain this signed EAF for your personal records which you may need in the future.

Multiple CPT Policies

More than one job at NEC is never guaranteed.
Only one job is approved at the time they enroll in the program, but the student need to get special permission from their Program Director about a second one.
