Trine University is a legitimate institution recognized by both the United States and the Chinese Ministry of Education. It has obtained accreditation from various organizations such as The Higher Learning Commission, the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

According to the 2024 US News rankings, Trine University ranks 14th among colleges in the Midwestern region of the United States. It also ranks 14th among the most valuable colleges in the United States.

Note: According to the requirements of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), individuals are only eligible for the Advanced Degree Exemption treatment when applying for an H1B work visa if they have obtained a master’s degree or higher from a public university or a private non-profit university. This means they can participate in the H1B lottery under the master’s degree cap. Conversely, if you have completed your studies at a private for-profit educational institution, even if you have obtained a master’s degree or higher, you are not eligible for the Advanced Degree Exemption. Instead, you must participate in the regular H1B lottery along with undergraduate degree holders.

(7)English proficiency requirements: Master’s programs require IBT TOEFL 79, or PTE 58, or IELTS 6.5 overall and a 6.0 minimum on any section, or Duolingo 95. The doctoral program requires IBT TOEFL 90, or PTE 60, or IELTS overall 7.0 minimum, or Duolingo 110. Applicants with a degree from a U.S. institution may be exempt from language proficiency requirements.
On-campus Attendance Frequency
On-campus attendance once per semester, with the remaining time spent taking online courses. Students can choose their preferred campus for on-campus classes when filling out the online application form.
GPA Requirements
During the enrollment period, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above is required. Otherwise, full-time CPT will be terminated, and if the GPA falls below 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the student will face expulsion from the school.
CPT Application
CPT applications can be submitted at the beginning or during the semester. If it’s nearing the end of the semester, it’s advisable to apply for the next semester’s CPT. The school typically takes about two weeks to approve CPT applications, so students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
New students at Trine University can start using CPT for legal internship starting from the program start date, which is approximately one month before the official start of classes. It’s important to note that students must receive an I-20 with authorized CPT and wait for the CPT start date specified on the I-20 before legally commencing work.
Trine University’s CPT authorization lasts for up to one year and can be renewed annually. If changing employers, students need to contact the school to reapply for CPT and update their I-20 accordingly.

Class Start Date
Trine University has three terms per year, with two sessions per term. Students can enroll in either session. Classes are mandatory in the spring and fall terms, while attendance in the summer term is optional. However, new students enrolling in the summer term must attend classes. The school start dates for 2024 are as follows: 01/08/2024, 03/11/2024, 05/13/2024, 06/24/2024, 08/19/2024, and 10/21/2024.

* For students enrolling in the summer semester: Attendance required in the first year for summer, spring, and fall semesters. Total tuition and CPT fee for the first year: $11212.50. For the second year, attendance required in spring and fall semesters, optional in summer but CPT available.
2. For the doctoral program:
Tuition fee per credit: $700
Total credits for graduation: 60
Semester enrollment: 6 credits
CPT enrollment per semester: 0.5 credits
