California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM) is a private nonprofit university located in Southern California. It was incorporated in 2011. The California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM) was established to disseminate Peter F. Drucker’s philosophy of management as a liberal art and to offer students real-world, hands-on experience during their MBA program at an affordable tuition. CIAM was founded by Dr. William A. Cohen (President Emeritus) and Ms. Jennie Ta (Former President) with the encouragement of philanthropist Mr. Minglo Shao, the principal benefactor of the institution. CIAM dedicated to developing students into executive leaders focused on solving social issues and inspiring change through responsible, holistic, and compassionate business management principles for the betterment of humanity.

Accreditation
CIAM received national accreditation in 2015 and distance education accreditation in 2018. Regional accreditation was earned from WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) in 2018, which is the highest level of accreditation available to western universities. Additionally, CIAM is a member of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Note: According to the requirements of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), individuals are only eligible for the Advanced Degree Exemption treatment when applying for an H1B work visa if they have obtained a master’s degree or higher from a public university or a private non-profit university. This means they can participate in the H1B lottery under the master’s degree cap. Conversely, if you have completed your studies at a private for-profit educational institution, even if you have obtained a master’s degree or higher, you are not eligible for the Advanced Degree Exemption. Instead, you must participate in the regular H1B lottery along with undergraduate degree holders.

(7)English proficiency requirements: Master’s programs require IBT TOEFL 79, or PTE 58, or IELTS 6.5 overall, or Duolingo 105. Applicants with a degree from a U.S. institution may be exempt from language proficiency requirements.
Frequency of on-campus attendance
Once per semester, totaling 3 times per year.
GPA requirement
During enrollment, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above is required. Failure to do so will result in termination of Full-time CPT. If the GPA remains below 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the student will be subject to dismissal by the school.
CPT application deadline
Students who have already obtained a degree in the United States can start using CPT from the first day of classes. CPT applications are submitted once per semester. The school typically takes about two weeks to approve CPT applications, so students are advised to submit their applications at least two weeks before the start of classes. It’s important to note that students must receive an I-20 with CPT authorization and wait until the CPT start date specified on the I-20 before legally beginning work! If changing employers, students must contact the school to reapply for CPT and update their I-20.
Employer letter requirement for CPT
(1) Written on company letterhead (including company logo and name at the top of the page)
(2) Include job title
(3) Provide a detailed job description that is related to the student’s field of study
(4) Include the employer’s detailed address (street, city, state, and zip code) and contact information (phone number and email).
(5) Specify whether the job is full-time or part-time
(6) Provide the employer’s EIN Number or E-Verify ID
(7) Specify the detailed start and end dates of the CPT employment (CPT authorization cannot exceed one year)
(8) The CPT start date cannot be earlier than the start date of the semester

2023-2024 Academic Year Tuition
The master’s program consists of two courses per semester, with tuition of $4,000 per semester. There are three semesters in an academic year, making the annual tuition $12,000. With a duration of two years for graduation, the total tuition amounts to $24,000.
Application Fee
$75, refunded by Ivy International Consulting upon enrollment.
Scholarship
CIAM offers up to $3000 in scholarships for international students. Additionally, students referred to CIAM through Ivy International Consulting are eligible to receive exclusive rebates of $600 provided by Ivy International Consulting.
